Bettie Serveert in Haarlem

Bettie Serveert is a Dutch indie-rock band formed in Arnhem in 1986, led by singer Carol van Dijk and guitarist Peter Visser. The group became known through the debut album Palomine and songs including “Tom Boy,” “Kid’s Allright” and “Palomine,” followed by records such as Lamprey and Dust Bunnies. After releasing Palomine, the band played clubs across Europe and North America and performed at Pinkpop in 1993. In 1998, they recorded a concert devoted to songs by the Velvet Underground; it was released as Plays Venus in Furs and Other Velvet Underground Songs after the performance at Paradiso in Amsterdam.
