Big D and the Kids Table are an American ska-punk band formed in Boston in 1995. Their music combines fast punk rhythms with ska guitar and a horn section; albums including Good Luck, How It Goes and Strictly Rude produced songs such as “L.A.X.,” “Shining On” and “Noise Complaint.” The band played multiple editions of the Vans Warped Tour, bringing its horn-led lineup to the festival’s outdoor stages. Between those appearances, Big D and the Kids Table headlined punk clubs and theatres in North America and Europe, frequently returning to its home scene in Boston.
The Pietasters are an American band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1990. Their music draws on ska, reggae, rocksteady, soul and punk, and they are known for the albums Oolooloo and Willis, as well as songs including “Out All Night” and “Maggie Mae.” The Pietasters appeared on the Vans Warped Tour during the 1990s, bringing their horn-led lineup to the festival’s touring stages. Their 1999 album Strapped Live! documented a hometown club performance at the 9:30 Club.
