Bill Charlap Trio in Portsmouth

Bill Charlap Trio is an American jazz group led by New York pianist Bill Charlap, with bassist Peter Washington and drummer Kenny Washington forming its established lineup. The trio interprets standards and songs by Broadway and Hollywood composers; its recordings include Written in the Stars, Somewhere: The Songs of Leonard Bernstein and Uptown, Downtown. Live at the Village Vanguard documents the trio during an engagement at the New York jazz club. The group has returned there for multi-night residencies, performing in its acoustic piano, bass and drums format, the lineup built around Bill Charlap, Peter Washington and Kenny Washington.
