Bitchin Bajas in Newcastle upon Tyne

Bitchin Bajas are an American experimental trio formed in Chicago by Cooper Crain, later joined by Rob Frye and Daniel Quinlivan. Their instrumental music draws on ambient electronics, sustained drones and improvisation; key releases include Bajascillators, Bajas Fresh and Switched on Ra, an album of Sun Ra compositions. Bitchin Bajas perform with synthesizers, organ, electronics and woodwinds, developing long pieces through repetition and gradual shifts. Their live work has included appearances at Big Ears in Knoxville and Le Guess Who? in Utrecht.
