Blues Traveler is an American rock band formed in Princeton, New Jersey, in 1987. Their music draws on blues rock and the improvisation associated with jam bands, led by John Popper’s vocals and harmonica. The album four produced their best-known songs, “Run-Around” and “Hook.” In 1992, Blues Traveler helped create the traveling H.O.R.D.E. festival, performing on its inaugural run with Phish, Widespread Panic, the Spin Doctors and Aquarium Rescue Unit. A year later, the band began an Independence Day concert tradition at Red Rocks Amphitheatre that extended across decades. Blues Traveler has also performed at Bonnaroo in Tennessee and at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
