About Boban Markovic Orkestar
Boban Marković Orkestar is a Serbian Romani brass band led by trumpeter Boban Marković and rooted in Vladičin Han. The ensemble plays Balkan brass driven by trumpets, tenor horns, tubas and percussion; its recordings include Millennium, Boban i Marko and Devla.
At the Guča Trumpet Festival, Boban Marković received both the First Trumpet and Golden Trumpet awards. The orchestra returned to the competition as a featured performer and carried the same repertoire into concert halls and festival programs abroad.
The group performs as a full brass orchestra, with the lead trumpet set against layered horn parts and percussion. Its recorded collaborations include Brotherhood of Brass with Frank London’s Klezmer Brass Allstars.
The orchestra performed at Roskilde Festival in Denmark and Sziget Festival in Hungary.
