Booker T. Jones in Minneapolis

Booker T. Jones is an American organist, songwriter and producer, born in Memphis in 1944. He led Booker T. & the M.G.'s, the Stax Records house band whose instrumental soul recordings include “Green Onions,” “Hip Hug-Her” and “Time Is Tight.” His solo catalogue includes the albums Potato Hole and The Road from Memphis. In 1967, Booker T. & the M.G.'s toured Europe as part of the Stax/Volt Revue and played Monterey Pop, where they backed Otis Redding. The group reunited as the house band for Bob Dylan's 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration at Madison Square Garden in 1992. In 1993, Booker T. & the M.G.'s toured as Neil Young's backing band.
