About Brain Damage
Brain Damage is a French dub project created in Saint-Étienne in 1999 by producer Martin Nathan. Its music is built on heavy bass, electronic processing and roots-reggae rhythms; releases including Spoken Dub Manifesto and Ashes to Ashes / Dub to Dub established its catalogue, followed by collaborations such as Empire Soldiers with Vibronics and Walk the Walk with Harrison Stafford.
The High Damage project brought Brain Damage and Lyon dub group High Tone together for a joint album and concert performances. Martin Nathan later took the Harrison Stafford collaboration onto the road, then presented material from Beyond the Blue in concert with Jamaican deejay Big Youth.
