About Brandee Younger
Brandee Younger is an American harpist and composer from Hempstead, New York, who plays contemporary jazz shaped by soul, funk and spiritual jazz. Her albums include Soul Awakening, Somewhere Different and Brand New Life, which draws directly on the music and legacy of jazz harpist Dorothy Ashby.
Brandee Younger performed an NPR Tiny Desk Concert in 2023, placing the harp at the center of a compact jazz ensemble. She has also led her own groups at the Newport Jazz Festival and Jazz at Lincoln Center.
