About Bret McKenzie
Bret McKenzie is a New Zealand singer-songwriter, comedian and composer for film and television, best known as one half of Flight of the Conchords with Jemaine Clement. The duo’s songs include “Business Time” and “Hiphopopotamus vs. Rhymenoceros,” while his solo work includes the album Songs Without Jokes. He also wrote “Man or Muppet” for The Muppets, which won the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Flight of the Conchords played the Hollywood Bowl in 2010 and returned to arenas for the Flight of the Conchords Sing Flight of the Conchords Tour in 2018. In 2022, he took Songs Without Jokes on a solo headline tour, performing with a full band at theatres including London’s Royal Festival Hall.
