Bruce Foxton is an English bassist, singer and songwriter, born in Woking in 1955. He is best known for his work in The Jam, where his bass playing and backing vocals featured on songs including “Going Underground,” “Town Called Malice” and “That’s Entertainment.” He also wrote “News of the World” and “Smithers-Jones,” and later released the solo album Touch Sensitive, which included “Freak.” Bruce Foxton played The Jam’s 1982 farewell tour, including Wembley Arena and the band’s final concert at the Brighton Centre. He subsequently spent much of the 1990s and 2000s touring as a member of Stiff Little Fingers. Since 2007, he has performed with singer-guitarist Russell Hastings under the name From the Jam, building the concerts around The Jam catalogue.
