Artist
Built to Spill is an American indie-rock band formed in Boise, Idaho, in 1992 by singer and guitarist Doug Martsch. Its central records include There’s Nothing Wrong with Love, Perfect from Now On and Keep It Like a Secret, while “Carry the Zero,” “The Plan” and “Big Dipper” are among its best-known songs. The 2000 concert album Live captured the band extending its guitar arrangements onstage, including a long rendition of Neil Young’s “Cortez the Killer.” In 2008, the group toured with performances of Perfect from Now On in full. In 2019, Doug Martsch led 20th-anniversary shows for Keep It Like a Secret, where the album was played in full.
