About Buju Banton
Buju Banton is a Jamaican reggae and dancehall singer born Mark Anthony Myrie in Kingston in 1973. His 1995 album ’Til Shiloh brought Rastafarian themes and roots reggae to the fore, and includes “Untold Stories,” “Not an Easy Road” and “Murderer.” Before the Dawn later won the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album.
The Long Walk to Freedom concert brought him back to the stage at Kingston’s National Stadium in March 2019, opening a Caribbean tour that included Nassau and Port of Spain. In July 2024, he returned to the United States for two Long Walk to Freedom concerts at UBS Arena in Elmont.
