Buzzcocks in The City of Brighton and Hove

Buzzcocks are a British punk-rock band formed in Manchester in 1976 by Pete Shelley and Howard Devoto. After Devoto left, Shelley became the principal singer and songwriter, shaping concise, melodic records such as “Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn’t’ve),” “What Do I Get?” and “Orgasm Addict.” Their early catalogue includes the albums Another Music in a Different Kitchen and Love Bites. The band made its concert debut at the Lesser Free Trade Hall in 1976, opening for the Sex Pistols. After splitting in 1981, Buzzcocks reunited in 1989 and resumed international touring; later engagements included dates supporting Nirvana on their final European tour in 1994 and Pearl Jam in North America in 2003.
