Caifanes in Mexico City

Caifanes are a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in 1987. Their music draws on alternative rock, post-punk and traditional Mexican sounds, and their best-known work includes the album El Silencio and songs such as “La célula que explota,” “Afuera,” “Viento” and “No dejes que...” In 2011, Caifanes reunited for performances at Vive Latino and Coachella after a long separation. The band subsequently returned to sustained touring in Mexico and the United States, including a 2019 concert with Café Tacvba at the Hollywood Bowl.
