Candan Erçetin is a Turkish singer-songwriter, born in Kırklareli in 1963, whose music pairs Turkish pop with Balkan and folk elements. She made her solo album debut with Hazırım and is known for songs including “Yalan,” “Elbette,” “Melek” and “Gamsız Hayat.” In 1986, she performed “Halley” at the Eurovision Song Contest in Bergen as a member of Klips ve Onlar. Her later solo concert history has centred on Turkey, including repeated appearances at Istanbul’s Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre.
