Candlebox in San Diego

Candlebox is an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1990, known for alternative rock shaped by the city’s grunge era. The band’s self-titled debut established its best-known songs, including “Far Behind,” “You” and “Cover Me,” while later albums included Lucy and Happy Pills. In 1994, Candlebox opened for Rush on the Counterparts Tour and performed at Woodstock ’94. After re-forming in 2006, the band returned to sustained touring, then began its announced farewell run, The Long Goodbye Tour, in 2023.

Sponge is an American alternative-rock band formed in Detroit in the early 1990s and fronted by singer Vinnie Dombroski. The band became known through its debut album, Rotting Piñata, particularly the songs “Plowed” and “Molly (16 Candles Down the Drain),” and followed it with Wax Ecstatic. Sponge played Lollapalooza in 1995 while touring behind Rotting Piñata. The band later joined Everclear, Live and Filter on the 2013 Summerland tour, then took part in the 2016 Make America Rock Again tour.
