Cara Dillon in Leeds

Cara Dillon is a Northern Irish folk singer and songwriter, born in Dungiven in 1975. Her repertoire centres on traditional Irish songs and contemporary folk, and her best-known recordings include “Black Is the Colour,” “The Lark in the Clear Air” and the albums Cara Dillon and Hill of Thieves. Live at Cooper Hall, recorded in Frome and released in 2012, documented Dillon performing with her longtime musical partner Sam Lakeman and a small ensemble. Her Upon a Winter’s Night concerts later brought carols and traditional seasonal material to UK theatres, while the Coming Home tour combined songs, spoken poetry and memories of her upbringing. Her principal concert collaborator is Sam Lakeman, who accompanies her on piano and guitar.
