Carbon Leaf is an American folk-rock band formed in 1992 at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia. Its music draws on Celtic folk, roots rock and bluegrass, and the band is known for songs including “The Boxer,” “Life Less Ordinary” and “What About Everything?” as well as the album Indian Summer. Carbon Leaf established an annual holiday-concert tradition in Richmond and has staged those shows at The National. The band has also hosted its Ragtime Carnival at Pocahontas State Park in Virginia.
