Carlos Rivera is a Mexican pop singer and actor born in Huamantla, Tlaxcala, in 1986. He became known after winning the third generation of the television competition La Academia in 2004. His repertoire includes “Que lo nuestro se quede nuestro,” “Me muero” and “Regrésame mi corazón,” while his albums include Yo Creo and Guerra. He also performed “Recuérdame” for the Latin American Spanish version of the film Coco.

In 2011, Rivera began playing Simba in the Madrid production of The Lion King and later reprised the role in Mexico. The Yo Creo Tour and Guerra Tour brought his ballads and Latin pop songs to theatres and arenas in Spanish-speaking markets, followed by Un Tour a Todas Partes. His concert history also includes repeated headline performances at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City.
