Charlie Parr in Bayfield

Charlie Parr is an American singer, songwriter and guitarist from Minnesota who plays country blues and folk shaped by Piedmont-style fingerpicking. His catalog includes the albums 1922, Stumpjumper, Dog and Last of the Better Days Ahead, as well as the song “Cheap Wine.” The concert album Live at the Brewhouse records one of his performances in Duluth. He has taken the same solo format through clubs and folk festivals on repeated tours of the United States, Europe and Australia. His solo sets center on his voice and fingerpicked resonator and 12-string guitars, while banjo also appears in his live repertoire. In Minnesota, his performances have included First Avenue in Minneapolis and the Turf Club in Saint Paul.
