Chris Difford is an English singer, guitarist and lyricist, born in Greenwich, London, who co-founded Squeeze with Glenn Tilbrook in the 1970s. His lyrics and Tilbrook’s music produced songs including “Cool for Cats,” “Up the Junction” and “Tempted”; Difford also recorded solo albums such as I Didn’t Get Where I Am.

After Squeeze split in 1982, he and Tilbrook recorded and performed as Difford & Tilbrook before returning to the band for later reunions and tours. He has also toured intimate theatres and arts centres with autobiographical shows that combine acoustic performances and spoken stories, including Some Fantastic Place: My Life in and out of Squeeze.
