Chris Rock is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer and director, born in 1965 in South Carolina and raised in Brooklyn. He joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in the early 1990s and became known for incisive comedy about race, relationships, politics and celebrity. His major stand-up specials include Bring the Pain, Bigger & Blacker, Never Scared and Tamborine; he also created and narrated the television comedy Everybody Hates Chris. The Total Blackout Tour began in 2017 and marked his return to extensive stand-up touring after a long break. He followed it with the Ego Death World Tour in 2022 and joined Kevin Hart for the Rock Hart: Only Headliners Allowed arena run, including a Madison Square Garden show where Dave Chappelle appeared. In 2023, Netflix streamed Selective Outrage live from the Hippodrome Theatre in Baltimore.
