Artists
Napalm Death are an English grindcore band formed in Meriden in 1981. Their combination of hardcore punk intensity, extreme-metal weight and politically charged lyrics became closely associated with the genre through the debut album Scum, the follow-up From Enslavement to Obliteration and the seconds-long song “You Suffer.” The 1989 Grindcrusher tour took Napalm Death around the UK with Carcass, Bolt Thrower and Morbid Angel. Their Campaign for Musical Destruction package tours later became a recurring part of their European live work, while the band also appeared at major festivals. In 2017, they performed on the Truth Stage at Glastonbury Festival.
Master is a Russian heavy- and thrash-metal band formed in 1987 by musicians who had left Aria. Its early records established the group through fast riffing and songs including “Master,” “Volya i razum” and “S petley na shee”; the albums Master and S petley na shee remain central to its catalogue. Master began playing concerts in 1987 and toured widely across the Soviet Union. During an early-1990s period based in Belgium, the band performed abroad while developing the English-language material heard on Talk of the Devil. In 2017, musicians from different lineups came together for the band’s 30th-anniversary concert in Moscow.
