Artists
Crash Test Dummies are a Canadian alternative rock and folk-rock band formed in Winnipeg in 1988. Their debut album, The Ghosts That Haunt Me, produced “Superman’s Song,” while God Shuffled His Feet featured “Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm” and “Afternoons & Coffeespoons.” Brad Roberts’s bass-baritone voice is central to the band’s sound. The band toured internationally behind God Shuffled His Feet and performed at Woodstock ’94. In 2018, Crash Test Dummies returned to concert touring for shows marking the album’s 25th anniversary, followed by further dates in North America and Europe. Crash Test Dummies perform as a full rock band, centering the arrangements on Roberts’s voice while also giving lead-vocal parts to Ellen Reid.
Logan Richardson is an American alto saxophonist and composer from Kansas City, Missouri, whose music draws on post-bop, electric jazz and contemporary R&B. His principal recordings include Shift, featuring Pat Metheny and Jason Moran, and the self-titled Blues People. Logan Richardson brought the electric Blues People project to NPR’s Tiny Desk, performing music associated with the album in an intimate ensemble setting. The concert placed his alto saxophone at the center of the group and was recorded in Washington, D.C.
