Current Swell is a Canadian band formed in Victoria, British Columbia, in 2005. It plays roots-oriented indie rock with folk, blues and reggae rhythms. Its best-known recordings include “Young and Able,” “Too Cold” and “Rollin’,” alongside the albums Protect Your Own, Long Time Ago and Ulysses. Current Swell performed in Vancouver during the 2010 Winter Olympics, then took its club and festival shows beyond Canada. A strong following in Brazil led to a 2013 performance in Rio de Janeiro at Rock in Rio.
