Curtis Salgado in Teaneck

Curtis Salgado is an American blues and soul singer, harmonica player and songwriter, born in 1954 and raised in Eugene, Oregon. His albums include Soul Shot, The Beautiful Lowdown and Damage Control. John Belushi encountered him while filming Animal House, and Salgado’s knowledge of blues and R&B helped inspire the Blues Brothers; Briefcase Full of Blues was dedicated to him. In the 1970s, Curtis Salgado co-fronted the Robert Cray Band on the Pacific Northwest club circuit. He later became a singer for Roomful of Blues and appeared on Live at Lupo’s, recorded at Lupo’s Heartbreak Hotel in Providence. His subsequent live work included tours with Steve Miller and Santana.
