Cut Copy are an Australian electronic band formed in Melbourne in 2001 by Dan Whitford. Their synth-pop and indie-dance catalogue includes the albums In Ghost Colours, Zonoscope and Free Your Mind, as well as the songs “Hearts on Fire,” “Lights & Music” and “Need You Now.” Cut Copy played Coachella in 2008 during the touring cycle for In Ghost Colours, then returned to the festival in 2011 after the release of Zonoscope. Their festival appearances have also included Primavera Sound in Barcelona and Lollapalooza in Chicago. Cut Copy perform as a full band, using synthesizers, guitar, bass and drums. Dan Whitford handles lead vocals.
