D.L. Hughley is an American stand-up comedian, actor and radio host, born in Los Angeles in 1963. He created and starred in the sitcom The Hughleys and became widely known as a member of The Original Kings of Comedy. His recorded stand-up includes Uncut, Reset and Contrarian, with material centered on race, politics and American public life.

Beginning in 1997, The Original Kings of Comedy tour placed him in arenas alongside Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer and Bernie Mac; Spike Lee filmed the group at Charlotte Coliseum in 2000 for a concert movie. Hughley later toured in The Comedy Get Down with Cedric the Entertainer, Eddie Griffin, George Lopez and Charlie Murphy.
