D.R.I. & Pentagram in Los Angeles

D.R.I. is an American band formed in Houston in 1982, playing hardcore punk and thrash metal. The group helped establish crossover thrash through records including Dirty Rotten LP, Dealing with It!, Crossover and Thrash Zone; “Five Year Plan” and “Beneath the Wheel” are among its best-known songs. The band’s 1984 set at CBGB in New York was later issued as Live at CBGB’s 1984, preserving its early hardcore period. Three years later, another performance was documented in the concert video Live at the Ritz.

Pentagram is an American doom metal band formed in Northern Virginia in 1971 by singer Bobby Liebling and drummer Geof O’Keefe. Its early recordings included “Forever My Queen,” while the 1985 debut later known as Relentless and its follow-up Day of Reckoning established the band’s slow, heavy sound. A 1978 performance at The Keg in Washington, D.C., was eventually released as the live album A Keg Full of Dynamite. After repeated breakups and reunions, Pentagram returned to sustained touring and subsequently performed at Roadburn in Tilburg and Hellfest in Clisson.
