Artist
Daði Freyr is an Icelandic singer, songwriter and producer, born in 1992, who makes synth-pop and electronic pop. He became widely known through “Think About Things,” Iceland’s intended entry for the cancelled Eurovision Song Contest 2020. He returned with his group Gagnamagnið to represent Iceland with “10 Years” in 2021, and later released the album I Made an Album. At the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, a recording of the group’s rehearsal was used in the televised shows after a positive COVID-19 test prevented them from performing live. Daði Freyr subsequently took his pop set to international venues and festivals, including Glastonbury Festival in 2023. That year he also returned to Eurovision as an interval performer, singing Atomic Kitten’s “Whole Again” in Liverpool.
