Dale Watson is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1962 and closely associated with the Austin honky-tonk scene. He plays traditional country music that he calls “Ameripolitan,” and his catalogue includes “Country My Ass,” “I Lie When I Drink,” Cheatin’ Heart Attack and The Truckin’ Sessions. Live in London... England! documented Dale Watson and His Lone Stars performing his honky-tonk repertoire for an overseas club audience. In Austin, he became closely associated with the Continental Club, where his Monday-night performances developed into a long-running engagement.
