Dance Gavin Dance in Manchester

Dance Gavin Dance are an American post-hardcore band formed in Sacramento in 2005. Their music combines intricate, math-rock-influenced guitar parts, clean melodies and screamed vocals. The band are known for albums including Downtown Battle Mountain, Mothership and Artificial Selection, as well as songs such as “We Own the Night” and “Inspire the Liars.” The 10 Year Anniversary Tour in 2015 brought former vocalists Jonny Craig and Kurt Travis back for guest appearances, connecting different periods of the catalogue in the same concerts. Dance Gavin Dance later mounted the Afterburner Tour in 2021, supported by Animals as Leaders, Veil of Maya, Eidola and Wolf & Bear. Their concerts use a full-band format centered on the interplay between clean lead vocals and Jon Mess’s screamed parts. Will Swan’s intricate guitar lines remain central to the live arrangements. Dance Gavin Dance play theatre-sized halls and larger outdoor grounds. SwanFest began at City National Grove of Anaheim in 2019; its 2022 edition used the stadium setting of Heart Health Park.
