About Daughters
Daughters are an American noise-rock band formed in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2002. Their early records, including Canada Songs and Hell Songs, used brief, abrasive mathcore and grindcore structures; later albums such as Daughters and You Won’t Get What You Want moved toward industrial rhythms and stark noise rock. “The Reason They Hate Me” and “Satan in the Wait” are among their best-known songs.
The band returned to the stage in 2013 for a reunion show at The Met in Pawtucket, a club-sized venue near its home city. After releasing You Won’t Get What You Want in 2018, Daughters toured North America and Europe, moving between clubs, theatres and festivals; that run included a 2019 performance at Roadburn Festival in Tilburg.
