David J in Edinburgh

David J is an English musician, songwriter and bassist, born in Northampton in 1957. He co-founded the post-punk band Bauhaus and later formed Love and Rockets with Daniel Ash and Kevin Haskins. His work includes Bauhaus’s “Bela Lugosi’s Dead,” Love and Rockets’ “So Alive,” and solo releases such as Etiquette of Violence and “I’ll Be Your Chauffeur.” Bauhaus reunited at Coachella in 2005, and Love and Rockets followed there with a reunion performance in 2008. David J later brought his solo catalogue into fans’ homes through Living Room Tours. Another Love and Rockets reunion opened at Cruel World in 2023.
