David Phelps in São Paulo

David Phelps is an American Christian and gospel singer, born in Texas in 1969 and trained in vocal performance at Baylor University. His tenor became widely known through the Gaither Vocal Band and the Gaither Homecoming series, while his solo catalogue includes Revelation, Life Is a Church and Hymnal. “O Holy Night” and “No More Night” are among the songs closely associated with him. The Gaither Homecoming concerts took Phelps to arenas, auditoriums and churches as part of an ensemble built around Southern gospel standards. He also developed a solo touring career during his years with the group, recording the concert release Legacy of Love at the Alabama Theatre in Birmingham. After leaving the Gaither Vocal Band in 2017, he returned to full-time solo work and continued his seasonal concert tradition through the It Must Be Christmas Tour.
