David Russell in Rohnert Park

David Russell is a Scottish classical guitarist, born in Glasgow in 1953 and raised on the Spanish island of Menorca. His repertoire encompasses Renaissance and Baroque transcriptions, Spanish guitar music and Latin American works. His album Aire Latino received the Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Soloist Performance without orchestra. David Russell has performed regularly in Madrid, New York and Tokyo during decades of international recital work. He appears as a solo guitarist, presenting programs that include music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Francisco Tárrega and Agustín Barrios.
