De Kift in Hengelo

De Kift is a Dutch ensemble formed in Koog aan de Zaan in 1988. Its music combines punk, post-punk, brass-led folk and music theatre, often setting literary texts to song. Albums including Yverzucht, Krankenhaus and Vlaskoorts established this approach. De Kift has performed at Pinkpop and presented theatrical work at Oerol, while its European festival history also includes Sziget in Budapest. The concerts feature a multi-instrumental lineup built around vocals, guitars, drums and brass. Most of the group’s performances take place in the Netherlands, and De Kift has also toured theatres and festivals extensively in France.
