Decapitated & Septicflesh in Wroclaw

Decapitated are a Polish death metal band formed in Krosno in 1996. They became known for the tightly executed technical death metal of Winds of Creation and Nihility, the album that includes “Spheres of Madness.” Organic Hallucinosis, Carnival Is Forever and Cancer Culture chart the group’s later changes in lineup and sound. Decapitated returned to the stage in 2010 after rebuilding the band following the death of drummer Witold “Vitek” Kiełtyka. The 2017 Double Homicide Tour paired them with Thy Art Is Murder across North America, and the Cancer Culture Over Europe tour followed in 2022. Poland and the United Kingdom have both featured prominently in their live work. They performed at Mystic Festival in Gdańsk and Bloodstock Open Air in Derbyshire.

Septicflesh are a Greek symphonic death-metal band formed in 1990. Their music sets death-metal guitars and vocals against orchestral and choral writing, heard on albums including Communion, The Great Mass, Titan and Codex Omega. The group disbanded in 2003, reunited in 2007 and thereafter used the single-word spelling of its name. In 2019, Septicflesh performed at Teatro Metropólitan in Mexico City with an orchestra and choirs, recording the concert released as Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX. They returned to an orchestral setting in 2024 at the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, where they presented their songs with the Athens State Orchestra.
