Deer Tick in Charlotte

Deer Tick is an American rock band formed in Providence, Rhode Island, in 2004 by singer and guitarist John McCauley. Its music draws on alt-country, folk rock and garage rock, and the band is known for albums including War Elephant, Born on Flag Day and The Black Dirt Sessions, as well as songs such as “Baltimore Blues No. 1” and “Twenty Miles.” Deer Tick toured clubs and festivals behind War Elephant and Born on Flag Day, then developed a close connection with the Newport Folk Festival through repeat appearances and late-night performances around the event. In 2014, the band marked its tenth anniversary with a six-night residency at Brooklyn Bowl in New York.
