Del Castillo in San Antonio

Del Castillo is an American Latin rock band formed in Austin in 2000 by brothers Rick and Mark del Castillo. Its music is built around two Spanish guitars, flamenco technique and rock rhythms. The albums Brothers of the Castle and Vida established the group’s sound, and the band contributed music to Robert Rodriguez’s film Once Upon a Time in Mexico. In 2004, Del Castillo performed at the Crossroads Guitar Festival at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, an event organized by Eric Clapton. The band’s Texas festival appearances also included Willie Nelson’s Fourth of July Picnic.
