Demonios Da Garoa is a Brazilian samba vocal group formed in São Paulo in 1943. Closely associated with the songs of composer Adoniran Barbosa, the group is known for recordings of “Trem das Onze,” “Saudosa Maloca” and “Samba do Arnesto,” works rooted in the speech and street life of São Paulo. In 1943, the ensemble performed in a Rádio Bandeirantes talent contest under its original name, Grupo do Luar, an early radio engagement that led to the name Demonios Da Garoa. Its stage format developed around ensemble vocals accompanied by samba instruments, and later anniversary concerts and tribute programs repeatedly returned to the repertoire of Adoniran Barbosa.
