Dervish in Groton

Dervish is an Irish traditional folk band formed in Sligo in 1989. The group is known for albums including Harmony Hill and At the End of the Day, while The Great Irish Songbook featured guests such as Steve Earle, Vince Gill and Imelda May. Rock in Rio and Glastonbury Festival are among the major festivals Dervish has played during decades of international touring. In 2007, the band represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Helsinki, performing “They Can’t Stop the Spring.” The concert format is a full-band performance of traditional songs, reels and jigs, led by the voice and bodhrán of Cathy Jordan.
