Artist
Dexys are an English soul-pop band formed in Birmingham in 1978 by Kevin Rowland and Kevin Archer. First billed as Dexys Midnight Runners, they are known for the songs “Geno” and “Come On Eileen” and for albums including Searching for the Young Soul Rebels, Too-Rye-Ay and Don't Stand Me Down. The Projected Passion Revue tour brought Dexys to London's Old Vic in 1981, using a lineup that paired the group's horn section with strings. After returning to the stage for a tour in 2003, they played theatres behind One Day I'm Going to Soar in 2012 and took the production into a residency at the Duke of York's Theatre the following year. The two-part The Feminine Divine Live! tour in 2023 opened with a theatrical presentation of The Feminine Divine before a second set drawn from the band's catalogue.
