Dezerter in London

Dezerter is a Polish punk band formed in Warsaw in 1981 as SS-20; it adopted its present name the following year. The band became known for politically direct songs including “Spytaj milicjanta” and “Ku przyszłości,” and for records such as Kolaboracja and Underground Out of Poland. Dezerter’s 1984 performance at the Jarocin Festival was later released as the live album Jeszcze żywy człowiek, documenting the band’s early festival set. In later decades, they played clubs and festivals across Poland and toured Japan.
