Diamond Rio in Rocky Mount

Diamond Rio is an American country band formed in Nashville in 1982 as the Tennessee River Boys before adopting its present name. Close vocal harmonies and prominent guitar, mandolin and fiddle parts shape songs including “Meet in the Middle,” “How Your Love Makes Me Feel,” “One More Day” and “Beautiful Mess.” The group’s performance history began at Opryland USA, where the Tennessee River Boys worked as a theme-park band during the 1980s. Diamond Rio later moved into concert halls, fairs and country festivals, and in 1998 the band became a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
