Diana Ross is an American singer and actress, born in Detroit in 1944. She became known as the lead singer of the Supremes on Motown hits including “Where Did Our Love Go,” “Baby Love” and “You Can’t Hurry Love,” then began a solo career in 1970. Her solo catalogue includes “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” “Upside Down” and “I’m Coming Out.” In 1983, Ross performed a free concert on Central Park’s Great Lawn; a storm ended the first show early, and she returned the following day. Beginning in 2015, The Essential Diana Ross: Some Memories Never Fade gave her a residency at The Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas. She performed in the Sunday teatime billing at Glastonbury Festival in 2022.
