Die Ärzte in Dortmund

Die Ärzte are a German punk-rock band formed in Berlin in 1982. The trio of Farin Urlaub, Bela B and Rodrigo González is known for sharp humour, melodic punk and songs including “Westerland,” “Schrei nach Liebe,” “Männer sind Schweine” and “Junge.” Key albums include Die Bestie in Menschengestalt and 13. In 2002, Die Ärzte recorded an MTV Unplugged concert at Hamburg’s Albert-Schweitzer-Gymnasium, accompanied by a school orchestra and choir; the performance was released as Rock’n’Roll Realschule. The concert film Die Band, die sie Pferd nannten later documented a tour-closing open-air performance at Wuhlheide. They returned to stadium touring in 2022 with Buffalo Bill in Rom.
