Die Sterne in Dresden

Die Sterne are a German indie-rock band formed in Hamburg in 1991. Closely associated with the Hamburger Schule movement, they pair guitar-led rock and funk rhythms with Frank Spilker’s German-language lyrics. Their best-known records include Posen and Von allen Gedanken schätze ich doch am meisten die interessanten, while “Was hat dich bloß so ruiniert” and “Universal Tellerwäscher” became signature songs. Since the 1990s, Die Sterne have toured clubs, theatres and festivals across the German-speaking concert circuit. Their live repertoire has drawn on successive albums while retaining songs from their early catalogue, and the band has repeatedly performed in Berlin, Vienna and Cologne.
