Donavon Frankenreiter is an American singer-songwriter and professional surfer who plays acoustic rock shaped by folk, soft rock and reggae. His self-titled 2004 debut introduced songs including “Free” and “It Don’t Matter”; later releases include Move by Yourself and Pass It Around. The Record Player Tour in 2023 took him to every U.S. state in 49 days, an itinerary conceived as a record attempt for the fastest concert tour of all 50 states. Beyond that run, he has played clubs, theatres and festivals in Australia, Japan and Brazil.
The Band Of Heathens is an American roots-rock band formed in Austin, Texas, in 2005 around singer-songwriters Ed Jurdi, Gordy Quist and Colin Brooks. Its music draws on Americana, country, blues and Southern rock, and its best-known recordings include “Hurricane” and the albums Duende, Stranger and Simple Things. A weekly residency at Momo’s established the group as a live act, as its founding songwriters traded lead vocals and original material before expanding the lineup. The early release Live from Momo’s documented those performances, followed by another concert recording, Live at Antone’s.
